Shanley Creek Project
Project Date: Summer 2015
Partners: Big Blackfoot Chapter of Trout Unlimited, UM
Involvement: Funding assistance and volunteers
WSCTU is partnering with BBCTU for a native trout restoration project at Shanley Creek, a tributary to Cottonwood Creek in the Blackfood Watershed. This is one of several projects being completed throughout the drainage to improve fish passage, grazing management, and fish screening. The stream is also being negatively impacted by poor road location and undersized stream crossings. This portion of the project will include relocation of - 5,035 feet of road, elimination of two undersized culverts, and replacement of a bridge. Once complete, chapter volunteers will assist with planting vegetation at the site.
