Veteran's Tie-A-Thon 1000+ Flies Challenge
The WSCTU and fellow fly-tying friends came together from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 to tie flies for our chapter to donate to Warriors and Quiet Waters, a Bozeman-based non-profit that brings qualified post-9/11 combat veterans to Montana for a week-long program of fly fishing and relaxation. Through donations, there is no cost to the warriors. Go to warriorsandquietwaters.org for more information. It's a great organization and program.
Thank you to all who donated their time and effort at yesterday's Tie-A-Thon! Along with 50 dozen flies donated by Fly Boy Angler, our total fly donation will exceed 2,000. Even more exciting, other TU chapters around the country heard about what we were doing and are tying flies to send to us to donate to Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation! It was a fun and enjoyable way to spend a snowing Saturday for a great cause.
